Children in this stage begin developing their language skills and start symbolically representing objects using words and images. They are able to separate objects and group them by shape or color. During the third stage, the concrete operational stage (from ages 7 to 11), the child begins to conceptualize, create logical reasoning, and use operations such as classifying and ordering.
